Save Twitter Videos on Android with the Share Sheet
On Android you can skip copy-paste entirely. Install the downloader as an app once, and it shows up inside Twitter's own Share menu — tap, share, done.
Short answer: open the downloader in Chrome, choose Install app, then in Twitter tap Share → Download Twitter Video. The tweet opens pre-filled and extracts automatically.

Paste a Twitter/X link and download in seconds — free, no login.
Step 1 — Install it as an app
- Open the downloader in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu (top right).
- Choose Install app (or Add to Home screen).
This installs it as a PWA — a lightweight app with its own icon, no Play Store needed. Installing is what registers it as a Web Share Target, so Android's system share sheet knows it can accept links.
Step 2 — Share a tweet to it
- In the Twitter/X app, tap the share icon under the video.
- In the share sheet, tap Download Twitter Video.
- The app opens with the tweet link already filled in and extraction running.
- Tap the quality you want and the MP4 downloads.
Because the link is passed straight through, you never have to copy or paste anything. If you'd still rather paste manually, the standard download flow works too.
Where the video is saved
Downloads land in your Downloads folder and appear in the Files app and usually in your Gallery / Google Photos automatically. From there you can edit or re-share the MP4. You can pull the highest resolution the uploader posted — often 1080p Full HD.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an app from the Play Store?
No. The "app" is the website installed as a PWA. It updates itself and takes almost no space.
Why doesn't "Download Twitter Video" show in my Share menu?
You need to Install app first — that's the step that registers it as a share target. Reopen the share sheet after installing.
Does this work in Firefox or other browsers?
Installing and share targets are most reliable in Chrome on Android. Other browsers may still support pasting the link manually.
Can I download GIFs and images too?
Yes. GIFs download as silent MP4s — see the GIF guide. On iPhone, use the iPhone guide instead.
